COVID-19 UPDATE

Emergency Temporary Standard: beginning September 7th

Virginia is the first state to adopt statewide emergency workplace safety measures. Standards require social distancing mandates, face coverings, frequent cleaning and case tracking. This means in addition to the measures we have already implemented, a few new ones will be added into the mix of things.

Here is what you will need to know;

EVERY client will need to complete a pre-screening prior to each appointment; this includes filling out a questionnaire and having a staff member take your temperature. If you have had a massage session recently, this is nothing new to you! We are experimenting with new systems that'll make this transition as smooth as possible. You can find the questionnaire on our website under the "Covidscreen" tab- you can complete it there and it will be saved for your next appointment. Once you arrive for your appointment, your temperature will be taken and added to that screening. This will be rolling out in the coming weeks. Massage Therapy will still have a screening and temp- if you have a combo appointment, only one screening will need to be completed.  EVERY client will need to have a face covering with them. you may remove it during your adjustment, however you will need one to enter and exit the building.

Remaining in effect; if you arrive MORE than five minutes early, please remain in your car and call the front desk- as we have to follow distancing guidelines and need to control the client flow. Entrance is limited to PATIENTS ONLY, if you can arrange child care, or have them hangout outside we would appreciate it as we are only allowed a restricted number of bodies in the office and need to control what needs to be sanitized.

Thank YOU for your continued support and understanding during these wacky times!

July Covid-19 Update

THINGS THAT HAVE CHANGED:

  • Mask Mandate: The governor is requiring the use of masks inside places people congregate within 6 feet of one another. We at Lykens Chiropractic understand that if your health condition prohibits wearing a face covering, you are not required to wear one.
  • Our Massage Department is back in action!  In order to stay healthy and in order to keep serving you, here are the procedures for these appointments;
    • Clients must wear a mask for the full session
    • We're currently only scheduling 60 minute sessions
    • The massage therapist will take your temperature and have you complete pre-screening questionnaire to be signed prior to the massage
Continue to help us practice spacing guidelines.
  • When you arrive; if you are more than 5 minutes early, call our front desk @ 540-667-7388 from your car to be notified when to come inside. If you are 5 minutes early or less, please make your way inside to check in.
  • If you are running behind, please call in advance and let us know so the front desk can arrange the schedule appropriately or reschedule you.

THINGS THAT REMAIN IN EFFECT:

  • We are limiting entrance to patients only or to those accompanying a minor. If you are a larger family we may need to have some members wait in the car to be rotated in.
  • We love being here to support and serve you, but in the current climate we are minimizing your time in the office. We ask that you do not loiter - for required spacing and timely cleaning practices.
  • We will be handing you a disinfected stylus at check-in so no need to touch screens. As we are transitioning into this next phase and begin to expand our schedule we ask that you: check in, then pre-pay and schedule your next appointment. This way, you exit promptly after your adjustment and we are able to bring in the next client. We will use your stored payment method to avoid exchange contact.
  • Those over 65 years young, with a compromised immune system, potential illness, or recent contact with someone ill we ask that you remain home. However, if you are over 65 with an acute complaint we will schedule you a private appointment.

DUE TO THE CURRENT SITUATION, THE MASSAGE DEPARTMENT WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL DEEMED SAFE. WE WILL CONTINUE TO SERVE YOUR NEEDS THROUGH CHIROPRACTIC CARE AND INFRARED SAUNA SESSIONS.

Thank you for your patience [pun intended] as we implement new office procedures and ask for your

continued cooperation.

 We are here for necessity care in order to reduce the burden on primary medical offices,
Urgent Care and the Emergency Department so they can focus on illness care.
 Please come at your appointment time and no earlier so that we can comply with occupancy
guidelines. If you would like to come earlier, just call and we'll do our best to make it happen.
 When you arrive, please remain in your car and call our front desk 540-667-7388 as soon as
you arrive. We will then call or text you to come inside.
 We are limiting entrance to only patients. If a minor is the only patient, the parent may
accompany. If you are a larger family, some may need to wait in the car as we rotate you into
the office.
 Please sit only at 1 of the 3 marked sitting depots in our Reception area in order to comply with
distancing.
 We will only have 1 iPad for check in and the staff member will hand you a disinfected stylus.
Do not check in without the stylus even though our iPad is disinfected after each use. If staff is
on the phone they will help you shortly.
 We will be storing your credit card # (encrypted), instead of swiping every visit, to reduce
contact . You will always be asked in advance of a card charge each visit.
 We love being here to support and serve you but with the current climate we are minimizing
your time in the office. We ask that you do not loiter - for our efficiency and proper cleaning
practices. Please and thank you.
 Those over 65 years young, with a compromised immune system, potential illness, or recent
contact with someone ill we ask that you remain home. If you are not ill and have an acute
complaint that needs attention then we need to schedule you at a specific time.

We're streamlining to remain compliant and for everyone's peace of mind. We look forward to when
we can return to hugs and the other things that show how much we care for you.
Most importantly, if you need assistance or have questions for one of our doctors, please let us know
how we can help.

If you are experiencing acute respiratory illness, including symptoms of fever, cough, or shortness of breath, please remain home and reschedule your appointment for another day.

We will continue to monitor the situation, and we are prepared to "adjust" our protocols as needed to ensure the safety of our patients and team members. Any changes to our plan or CDC guidelines will be posted to our social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram (@LykensChiropractic). If you have any questions or concerns about your chiropractic care or upcoming appointment, please contact our office!(540) 667-7388.
